Bulgaria: Important milestone reached for Neykovo-Vidno wind farm
Windkraft Simonsfeld has been operating two wind farms in the Kavarna region on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast since 2009. At this particularly windy location, our Bulgarian subsidiary is currently developing another wind farm with 15 wind turbines with a total rated output of around 85 MW. This is currently in the approval process.

With the positive conclusion of the environmental impact assessment (EIA), a key milestone has now been reached in the approval process for the expansion project.
"The Neykovo wind farm was our first international wind farm. I am very pleased that we have now taken an important step towards implementing the new Neykovo-Vidno wind farm. We want to continue writing the history of Simonsfeld Wind Power in Bulgaria and multiply our contribution to regional and independent clean electricity production in the Kavarna region," says Markus Winter, Chief Technology Officer.
All sites for the 15 turbines in the three to seven megawatt class have already been secured. The next steps are to reallocate the land and secure access to the grid.
