Wind farm in Unterstinkenbrunn submitted for environmental assessment
We are pleased to announce the next submission of a wind farm project: seven modern wind turbines in Unterstinkenbrunn are to produce the annual electricity requirements of 28,000 households in future. This is another important step towards climate protection and the energy transition in Lower Austria.

All documents and investigations are now being examined in detail as part of the EIA process, and we do not expect a first-instance decision until mid-2025 at the earliest. If everything goes according to plan, electricity will be produced from wind energy in Unterstinkenbrunn from 2027. The planned wind farm area is located to the north of Unterstinkenbrunn, is used for agricultural purposes and offers very good wind conditions. All planned turbines are located on rezoned areas and within the revised wind zones recently submitted by the province of Lower Austria for assessment. All turbines are more than 1,600 meters away from the nearest villages.
Mayor Matthias Hartmann is looking forward to the project: "This wind farm sends out an important signal for our region and ensures that our municipality will have a stable foundation for many years to come. Thanks to the partnership with Windkraft Simonsfeld, we will be able to implement many projects for the benefit of our citizens."
