Wilfersdorf wind farm completed
Good news for the energy transition: The third and final wind turbine in the Wilfersdorf wind farm has been completed. The wind farm will go into operation in October and will make another important contribution to a secure, regional and independent power supply.
The three systems from the German manufacturer Nordex, with a nominal output of two times 6.8 MW and one 4.8 MW, will produce a total of 41.7 million kWh of green electricity per year and thus meet the average electricity requirements of 10,400 households. With the expansion of the wind farm, we are continuing the more than 20-year success story in the community of Wilfersdorf.
“We are continuing the dynamic expansion of our projects for the energy transition. In view of the weather extremes of the last few months - from heat records to catastrophic floods - this is more urgent than ever, and the man-made climate crisis is becoming more and more noticeable for all of us regionally. We are therefore investing every euro in the climate change,” emphasized Chief Technology Officer Markus Winter.
The construction work went according to plan: the first two systems were completed in July and the third system at the end of September. A total of almost € 30 million was invested. Wind farm is a cooperation project with ImWind, which has built another 2 systems.
Next year we will be able to celebrate a great wind festival here together with you - the date will follow.
