Climate justice
Against nuclear power
In partnership with Global 2000
We’ve partnered up with Global 2000 to shed light on the negative implications of using nuclear power.
Since 2018, Windkraft Simonsfeld has supported various initiatives launched by Global 2000, including the anti-nuclear power campaign and the long-standing fight against the commissioning of a third reactor in Mochovce (Slovakia).
We also support educational measures aimed at raising awareness of the risks of nuclear power and its impact on humanity and nature. Further initiatives are in the pipeline, including one to allow young people, first and foremost, to cross-examine the promises made by the nuclear industry with a fact-based reality check.
Fridays for Future
We support the global Fridays for Future climate strikes, which tens of thousands of primarily young people have participated in throughout Austria. The main demands:
to stay below the 1.5 °C limit, stop using oil and gas as soon as possible and to achieve climate justice for all. In Austria, one of the main demands was the pending Climate Change Act.
Climate justice!
Fridays For Future
With the support of thousands of people in Europe and around the globe, Fridays for Future are demanding action against the threat of climate disasters.
Austrian Climate Alliance
Windkraft Simonsfeld is proud to be a partner of the Austrian Climate Alliance (Klimabündnis) since 2020. We support educational initiatives in preschools and primary schools throughout Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg, locations where we also have projects. In this way, we hope to shine a light on global and local sustainability issues. We also support the latest project launched by the Climate Alliance – the climate escape box.
This is an innovative interactive game for students over the age of 15 and adults alike whereby puzzles need to be solved to escape the climate crisis. The interactive workshops focus on topics like adapting to climate change, climate justice and climate communication.
